CNR Wharf Waterfront Park

Building on West Kelowna’s successful Parks and Recreation Master Plan and Waterfront Plan, Lanarc was invited to develop a concept plan for redeveloping the much-loved historic CNR Wharf and park in Gellatly Bay. The concept plan development included interest groups and community engagement to determine what features and activities should be given priority in phasing and capital planning.
Following adoption of the concept plan, the team was engaged to lead a multidisciplinary process for detailed design and documentation, permitting, tendering, and construction services. The design included replacement of the wharf structure, elevated boardwalk, diving tower, zipline, shoreline stabilization, beach construction, entry plaza and washrooms. This continues to be a favourite community place on the waterfront and is enjoyed by all ages.
