Jana Zelenski  I  MLA, BCSLA, IAP2, LEED AP
Principal, Landscape Architect + Engagement Planner

 

Jana brings a strong background in landscape architecture and open space planning and a belief that the best solutions are reached through a comprehensive planning and consultative process. Jana’s work encompasses planning and design, from community-wide planning, to detail design and site implementation.  She works closely with clients, and communities to plan and design solutions with lasting effects. Jana’s IAP2 Certification and work experience provides a solid foundation for designing and implementing engagement processes that are efficient and generate meaningful results.

She has been working with clients for over a decade to plan and execute consultations that engage stakeholders and members of the public on topics including environmental assessment, transportation, water, parks and open space, and community planning.

 


Kate Evans  I  BLA, BCSLA, CSLA
Principal, Landscape Architect

Kate is a Registered Landscape Architect who is motivated by solutions that combine design, ecology, social context and effective communication. Kate navigates with ease between diverse design and planning scales such as park planning, master planning, large-scale redevelopment and site-specific design. She balances strong technical skills for project development and implementation with strong communication skills for public engagement and workshop facilitation. As a component of these varying projects, Kate is skilled at developing effective graphic and visual communication materials by sketching, drafting and computer rendering.

Kate’s education and work experiences from Ontario, Saskatchewan, Sweden, and Chile have enriched her design perspective and processes. She is passionate about serving her clients and finding thoughtful and creative solutions to complex problems.  


Bob Lilly  I  BLA, BCSLA, CSLA
Principal, Landscape Architect + Urban Designer

 

Bob is a registered landscape architect with over 30 years of experience throughout North America. Bob's professional experience spans a full range of project types and scales—from densely urban public places to green infrastructure and ecological restoration. Bob offers a deep knowledge of landscape architecture backed by significant project experience and excellent project management skills. Bob has served as an expert witness related to landscape restoration.

Vanessa is a Registered Landscape Architect who is passionate about designing engaging, site sensitive landscapes that contribute to human and environmental health.  With work experience in British Columbia, Washington, and Oregon, Vanessa has provided design leadership and project management on a wide range of project types and scales throughout the Pacific Northwest, allowing her to develop a strong understanding of the nuances between urban and environmental systems. Vanessa’s technical abilities with graphic representation, detailed design, and construction administration support the translation of creative ideas into reality.

ISA Certified Arborist

Associate, Landscape Architect + Environmental Planner

 

Pieter is a Registered Landscape Architect and Certified Arborist who is committed to developing thoughtful and contextually grounded design solutions. With a background in environmental science, Pieter is an advocate for ecological stewardship and brings a strong understanding of natural processes to his project work. Pieter has worked across a range of project types and phases including the planning and design of public parks, university campuses, and urban developments. His strong technical proficiency has allowed him to excel in graphic production, construction documentation, and contract administration, elements of project work that he finds particularly rewarding.


Kristen Falconer  I  BA, PGD, IAP2
Planner + Engagement Specialist

Kristen is passionate about the engagement process and integrating stakeholder and public input into projects to achieve the best possible outcomes. She is skilled in coordinating and facilitating public and stakeholder events including planning support, logistics, and designing user-friendly communications materials for a range of audiences. Kristen’s background in marketing communications lends to her ability to develop appropriate tools for outreach and facilitating dialogue. She is experienced in developing engagement and communications strategies and in research, digital engagement, surveys and data analysis, data visualization and mapping, and documentation. Kristen has provided engagement services on a diverse array of projects including climate change adaptation; water resource-related initiatives; environmental assessment; transportation planning; parks and open space development; and community planning.


Shelby Brubacher I  BLA, IAP2
Landscape Designer

Shelby is a recent graduate from the University of Guelph's Bachelor of Landscape Architecture program. Shelby has won multiple scholarships over the course of her degree related to the field and her engagement with the community. Her passion for developing strong relationships and connections in both an ecological and community context are strengthened by her horticultural background.


Graham Louwers I MLA Landscape Designer

 

Graham is a landscape designer and recent graduate from the University of Calgary's Master of Landscape Architecture program. Graham has an undergraduate background in Geography with a specialization in urban and social sustainability giving him a deep understanding of the relationship between people and the spaces that they inhabit. Graham's graduate education has provided him with excellent graphical skills, proficiency in many design-related programs, and a fascination for topics such as stormwater management and restoration ecology.


David Reid  I  BLA, BCSLA, FCSLA
Principal Emeritus, Landscape Architect

David, with over 40 years of experience, practices at the nexus of planning, environmental engineering, and design. David’s background as a communicator / facilitator, land use planner / urban designer and a landscape architect provides the mix of strategy and detail design skills that move good intentions into practical action. Practicing as both a land use planner and a landscape architect, David is heavily involved in green infrastructure planning and design.

David has been instrumental as liaison among senior, regional and local levels of government, local government departments and the development community. His many innovative contributions include key titles in the Stewardship Series, Metro Vancouver’s Stormwater Source Control Design Guidelines and their Irrigation Best Management Practice Guide, Regional District of Nanaimo Action for Water program, and Kelowna’s Outdoor Water Conservation Initiative. David has applied policy, program and design guidelines into regional and local government Planning Strategies, Official Community Plans, Development Permits, Zoning and Subdivision Bylaws, and Water Regulations.

Most recently David has been active in planning for adaptation to climate change, including a nationally funded film series on sea level rise, rainwater management and water conservation. David’s passion is to “make sustainable development and climate resilience standard practice.” His clients are proceeding rapidly towards that goal.


Don Crockett  I  MLA, BES, BCSLA
Principal Emeritus, Landscape Architect

Don Crockett is a principal and senior landscape architect in Lanarc’s Lower Mainland office with more than 30 years of experience in private consulting and municipal practice. Don played key roles in many planning and landscape design projects, including neighbourhood planning and concept design, parks and trails planning, and park concept design development. His responsibilities ranged from high level concept design to detailed design and contract administration and he brings to projects expertise in 3D visualization and digital terrain modelling.  He is experienced with leading projects, either in a prime consulting role or as discipline-lead on larger interdisciplinary teams. 

Don has served on Advisory Design Panels in the Lower Mainland and has presented nationally to the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects and to the International Mine Closure 2015 Conference.
